Story
STORY: Famous for cultural heritage and unparalleled craftsmanship, India's artisans stole the show with their intricate embroideries on Saturday (July 27) at the Indian Couture Week.
Couturier Dolly J presented 'La Vie en Rose,' meaning a "pinker picture of life", featuring female models wearing western-inspired gowns with glittery, floral motifs, and wires engulfing them in delicate cages.
Behind the stage, Dolly J set up an installation of French patisserie and floral arrangements symbolising inclusivity, along with a sample of her designs displaying the strength of Indian embroideries.
Indian actress Sonakshi Sinha walked the ramp as Dolly J's showstopper wearing a glittery, pink cold-shoulder dress with trailing sleeves and thigh high slit.
While Dolly J's set featured floral arches made of pink roses, couturier JJ Valaya's stage design was a picture out of a history textbook.
Valaya, known for his creative prowess in presenting historical elements of culture, turned heads with the extensive detailing in his designs and recreated a royal Islamic court on stage.
The week-long Indian Couture Week which started on Wednesday (July 24), has featured famous couturiers such as Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Suneet Verma and Kunal Rawal, and is set to conclude on July 31.
