STORY:  Mohammad Raza, a Pakistani boy who won millions of hearts after UNICEF shared a video of him dancing in front of mountains in Pakistan's Gilgit-Baltistan, celebrated Eid by doing what he loves best ---dancing with his friends.

The video that went viral, was filmed by Raza’s aunt, Shaneela Raza,  and was shared by UNICEF on International Dance Day in April this year. It gained close to a million views on Twitter.

Five-year-old Raza, a student of Class one,  belongs to Passu in the remote mountainous valley of Gilgit-Baltistan in northern Pakistan, and is the youngest of three brothers. His parents run a small crockery store in the  village.

Shaneela says the lively little boy often gets restless because his school is closed due to the coronavirus lockdown. But cheers himself up with dancing to the beat of local music.

On Eid day, Raza met his cousins and friends in the green fields in the outskirts of the village, where they shared chocolates and danced to the  beat of a drum.

The viral video, aired on International Dance Day on April 30, at a time when  the world was battling the coronavirus , shows the little boy dancing in the snow in front of the peak of Tupopdan, also known as ‘Passu Cones,’ which stands 6,106 meters (20,033 ft) high.

Social media users from across the world were cheered up by the smiling little boy dancing in the snow.

World Health Organisation (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom also sent blessings for this Pakistani boy.

“Bless You,” wrote the Director-General on twitter while retweeting a post by UNICEF.
