KABUL : The Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs has announced the start of the process of departures of Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj, saying that the first pilgrimage flight took place on Sunday morning June 12, 2022.
In a statement, the Ministry of Hajj and Religious affairs says that the process of transferring Afghan pilgrims to Saudi Arabia has begun in the central zone and that the transfer of pilgrims from other parts of the country will start on a regular basis in the coming days.
At the start of the process of departures, the Deputy Prime Minister and the acting Hajj and Religious affairs spoke and assured that all the pilgrims would be transferred and the necessary services would be provided to the pilgrims during the Hajj.
Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the National Hajj Committee said in his speech that the Hajj Committee and officials from the Ministry were able to organize and initiate the process of transferring pilgrims to Saudi Arabia in a short time.
Mawlawi Abdul Kabir, the deputy political of the Prime Minister, also said in the initiative of the first flight that an Islamic system is now ruling in the country and efforts are being made to carry out religious processes in a better manner.
Earlier, the Afghan Ministry of Hajj and Religious Affairs announced that 13,500 Afghan pilgrims would attend this year’s Hajj.
