STORY:  IHH Humanitarian Relief Foundation, a conservative Turkish NGO, on Saturday (February 19)  donated two vehicles with different items for drug addicts to a hospital in Kabul.
The aid was handed over to the Jangalak Addiction Hospital in Kabul.
The President of the Turkish organization told a news conference in Kabul the fight against drugs must be fought worldwide.

“Drugs must be tackled internationally. Europe, Turkey, Syria and Afghanistan are under threat from drugs,” he said.

Doctors say there is a dearth of medicines at the hospital; and they need many more medicines and equipment.

“Today some medicines were brought to our hospital by the Turkish Embassy. We needed these materials. In the current situation we need help. We hope that this help will increase further,” said Mohammad Daud Jeyhun, a doctor at the hospital.

Addicts at the hospital said they were satisfied with the doctors' behavior but complained about the lack of medicines.

“ I have been in this hospital for two months. There is no salary for doctors but they are doing their job well. Drugs must be eradicated. The doctors are serving us,” said a drug addict,  Sayed Salman.
There are 250 addicts in this hospital of Jangalak, and each is expected to spend at least forty five days in this hospital.

According to statistics, there are more than three million addicts in Afghanistan.
