  8. “The (Pakistani) Prime Minister has said that he will be the Ambassador for Kashmir. You heard the speech of the Prime Minister  in the UNGA (United Nations General Assembly). It was an important message which was heard by the whole world. After that , the issue that India has always called an “internal matter” became internationalized. After that , the UN Security Council had a special sitting over Kashmir after 54 years; and not once, but twice in the same year. This is a success on our diplomatic front. India’s real face has been exposed to the world; the atrocities committed by Indian forces, Modi’s viewpoint, their philosophy of Hindutva, everything has become exposed. The Green that you see on the stamp, are the people who are asking for freedom. The Red marks the Kashmiris who have been martyred during this struggle . So God willing, the Kashmir cause  is not stopping now. And it will  culminate in the liberation of Kashmir, God willing.”

STORY:  Pakistan is planning to observe Wednesday (August 5) as “Youm-e-Istehsal” (Day of Exploitation), to mark one year of Indian military siege of the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IOJK).

On August 5 last year, the Indian government attempted to change the internationally-recognized disputed status of IOJK by abrogating articles 370 and 35A of its constitution, thereby not only violating the UNSC resolutions but its very own constitution by depriving the territory of IOJK of its special status.

In the lead-up to the move, the Indian government deployed thousands of additional troops to the disputed region, imposed a crippling curfew,  cutting off access to essential services, arrested political leaders and shut down all forms of communication; which have resulted in one of the greatest humanitarian crises the world has ever witnessed.

On  Monday (August 5), Pakistan’s Ministry of Postal Services issued a commemorative postal stamp bearing the picture of Sopore toddler sitting on the bullet-ridden body of his grandfather .

The picture had sparked outrage when it got published in international media. A caption above the child’s picture reads :”Kashmir under Seige- 365 days”.

“The purpose of this stamp is to make the world realize how India has imposed a rule of tyranny on the unarmed people of Kashmir . This stamp portrays that barbarity and cruelty. This stamp will be sent to places across the world, and will make people see how India has unleashed a reign of terror in Kashmir,” Shibli Faraz, Minister for Information, told reporters after the unveiling of the stamp.

India’s real face has been exposed to the world; the atrocities committed by Indian forces, Modi’s XXXX, their philosophy of Hindutva, everything has become exposed. The Green that you see on the stamp, are the people who are asking for freedom. The Red marks the Kashmiris who have been martyred during this struggle . So God willing, the Kashmir cause  is not stopping now. And it will  culminate in the liberation of Kashmir, God willing,” Minister for Communications and Postal Services, Murad Saeed said.

Various events, rallies and seminars will be held on August 5 across Pakistan to pay homage to the Kashmiri people for their historical struggle for the right of self-determination and to condemn the human rights violations committed by the Indian armed forces for over seven decades.

Officials and organizations working for the Kashmir cause will call upon India to honour and implement the UNSC resolutions as protected by its own constitution and rescind its unilateral actions in the IOJK after the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A, since 05th August, 2019.
