STORY: Prime Minister Imran Khan and Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan on Sunday (January 6) underscored the importance of pursuing the various initiatives taken for a strengthened strategic bilateral economic relationship.
The two sides also agreed on working on a long term investment framework agreement.
Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed Al Nahyan received guard of honour and held delegation-level talks with Prime Minister Imran Khan after he arrived in Pakistan for a one-day state visit on Sunday. He was accompanied by a high level delegation comprising cabinet members and senior officials.
In a special gesture of warmth and cordiality, Prime Minister Imran Khan accompanied the special guest to the Prime Minister’s House.
According to a statement from PM office, Sheikh Mohammad bin Zayed and Prime Minister Imran Khan held wide ranging talks focusing on all areas of bilateral relations.
"The two leaders underscored the importance of effectively pursuing the various initiatives taken for a strengthened strategic bilateral economic relationship including working on a long term investment framework agreement. They also resolved to take all necessary measures to deal with matters related to trade enhancement, and decided to form a Task Force to achieve this objective,"the statement said.
The Prime Minister expressed thanks for the generous Balance of Payment support of US$3 billion. He noted that this financial support shows the UAE’s continued commitment and friendship that has remained steadfast over the years.
He also welcomed the UAE’s interest in investing in Pakistan’s oil and gas, logistics, ports and construction sectors.
The two leaders expressed satisfaction at the on-going defence and security cooperation, and resolved to explore further collaboration in the areas of training, joint exercises and defence production.
