Story: Four school children sustained serious burn injuries on Saturday (January 5, 2019) as fire erupted in their school van near Qatar hospital in Orangi Town area of Pakistani port city of Karachi.

Local media quoted police as saying that short circuit in the ill-fated vehicle caused the incident, resulting four of the fourteen school children sustaining serious burn injuries.

The seriously burnt pupil were shifted to burns ward of a local hospital for medical attention. The hospital's burns centre incharge was quoted by the media as saying that the children were out of danger.

Public transport in Pakistan mostly runs on LPG and CNG and most of them use gas cylinders that are fitted inside the vehicle. Despite several warnings and prohibition by Pakistan transportation department against using gas cylinders in school vehicles, many here involve in violation and risk lives of innocent pupil.
