of the fastest growing economies in Asia. South Korea came to Pakistan to take our model.
Malaysia learned from Pakistan. And these countries moved ahead of us. Pakistan went wrong
in the 1970s, it went wrong because we had socialist mindset. And that socialist mindset
became a deterrent to wealth creation. That mindset then set us back. Nationalization took
place. Some of our big industrialists, businessmen were hounded out of the country. And so we
went backwards.

Story: Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan, who is in Turkey on a two-day official visit, has urged the Turkish government and investors to make new investments in Pakistan.

Khan, while holding separate meetings with the leading Turkish businessmen and investors in Ankara this morning, assured that Pakistan will fully support the exports of investors outside the country. He also assured to provide security to the investors willing to do trade with Pakistan.

During his address to the Turkey-Pakistan Business Council of the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Turkey (DEIK), Khan said that Pakistan in 2019 is different for the investors. There are more opportunities for foreign businessmen.
Our government is the government that now has a policy. We feel that wealth creation is what is going to take Pakistan out of economic crisis. We feel that wealth creation is how we will be able to pay our debts.

A handout issued by the Prime Minister office Pakistan read that the premier stressed on the need to transform the exemplary brotherly Pakistan-Turkey ties into a vibrant economic partnership. Showing satisfaction at the growing Turkish investments in Pakistan, the premier assured all possible government facilitation to the Turkish investors.

He said Pakistan is endowed with a wealth of resources, demographic potential, and an educated workforce.  Pakistan’s investment policy offers ideal opportunities to Turkish investors,read the handout.

PM Khan also met with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan during the last day of his visit.
