    STORY: At least seven people were burnt to death as a van carrying petrol and a truck collided near Mach in Bolan district of Balochistan in southwestern Pakistan early on Tuesday (October 23).

    

    Local media, citing police officials, said the van carrying petrol collided with a truck near the Quetta-Sibi National Highway. Five people were burnt to death on the spot as the van caught fire. Two injured were moved to hospital where they succumbed to the injuries.

    

    The petrol in the van was being taken from Quetta, the capital of Balochistan province, to Sibi, police said.

    

    Three cars which were parked nearby also caught fire in the incident.

    

    Police said they had launched investigation into the accident.

    

    Road accidents are common in rural Pakistan where roads are not in good condition and drivers generally ignore rules.
